Dear Cairo School District #1 Parents,
I would like to thank you for your continued support as you continue to entrust upon us to provide quality educational services for your child.
Recently we were informed that Covid 19 numbers in Alexander County are increasing. In order to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 we will return to remote instruction. Our students will enter remote instruction on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 and return to in-person learning on January 18, 2022.
I would like to thank the Cairo staff as they are prepared to provide high quality remote instruction. Please ensure that your child is working on their assigned school tasks. Additionally, our staff will continue to sanitize the building. And, arrangements will be made for student food deliveries while on remote instruction.
Prior to school reopening, lease keep your child home if they are ill and/or running a temperature. And, discuss with your child about the importance of good hygiene and the wearing of facial masks to minimize the spread of Covid-19.
If you have questions and/or concerns, please contact your school’s principal.
Yours truly,
Dr. Patrick Rice, Superintendent
