The U.S. 51 Bridge Project Team has scheduled a meeting to update the public on planning for construction of a new bridge. The meeting is set for Thursday, July 11, at Cairo High School from 5-8 p.m., with a presentation at 6 p.m.

Southernmost Illinois Delta Empowerment Zone, in collaboration with Shawnee Community College, with be holding their Youth Entrepreneurship Camp at Shawnee Community College's main campus from July 15th to July 18th, from 8:30am to 4pm. Registration is opened to all 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students, and the cost is ten dollars due upon application submission. Registration deadline is July 2nd, and applicants will be notified by selection committee no later than July 2nd, and enrollment is limited to 16 applicants.
