Cairo High School ACES Team Participates in 2025 ACES State at Eastern Illinois University

The Cairo High School Former WYSE (Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering) Team now ACES through Eastern Illinois University participated and won a medal at the State ACES Competition on April 14, 2025 at Eastern Illinois University. The ACES Competition is sponsored by Eastern Illinois University. It measures high school students’ knowledge of English, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, and engineering graphics.

Senator Dale Fowler’s Student Advisory Board Members

On Wednesday, April 9th, Cairo Elementary Students traveled to the state capitol to take part in Senator Dale Fowler’s student advisory board. The CES students participated heavily in the process while asking thought provoking questions and giving their opinions on why schools need hygiene rooms to better serve unprivileged youth.

The students were accompanied by their principal, Ms. Serina Nelson, Board Member Steven Tarver and Interim Superintendent, Dr. Ferrell.
