The Cairo High School EIU Regional Academic Challenge Team formerly WYSE (Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering) competed at the EIU Regional Academic Challenge Competition on February 7, 2023 at Shawnee Community College. Since 1997 the Academic Challenge was sponsored by the University of Illinois College of Engineering, the Regional Academic Challenge is now sponsored by the Eastern Illinois University College of Engineering.
It measures high school students’ knowledge of English, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, and engineering graphics.
